It contains a double row of fluorescent tube lamps.It contains a double row of fluorescent tube lamps. The arm moves the lighting while it's diffusing a constant and homogeneous illumination on the total area of the document, plus the camera which is digitizing it. This lighting does not generate any harmful and destroying UV light on documents however old they are.

The new lighting device (containing 4 light sources) is particularly adapted to bright documents. Several illumination configurations are available depending on the document coating (surface quality):

The first configuration allows a bilateral illumination dedicated to bright documents : photos with bright and glazed paper, adhesive (plastic-coated documents are not included).(light sources 1 & 4 switched on)

The single lateral illumination of the second configuration is ideal for documents in relief (e.g.: the seals, the laminated documents).(light source 1 or 4 switched on)

The third configuration allows a central illumination particularly adapted to light up the bottom of the binding.(light sources 2 & 3 switched on)

The newest configuration implements the whole illumination in order to decrease the exposure time of the digitizer, while it increases productivity.(light sources 1, 2, 3 & 4 switched on)

All configurations are selectable with a unique rotating switch located on the control panel of the scanner.

The DB10000BW and DB10000RGB scanners include standardly the RD lighting version (for Reflective Document) while it appears as an option on the DB2000LC, DB6002BW and DB6002 scanners.
